Perfect.
"Got Love If You Want It" and "King Bee" became one of the biggest 2 sided blues hits of the late 50's. I still have the 45.

I prefer the original 1961 recording.
Am I the only one to find hints of his playing in Peter Green’s work?
This guy had tremendous talent so sad he died early.
What a great sound. Love his mojo ❤
Get back from your trip with soul in your feet. ❤❤
Slim Harpo was one of the greats of creative musicians who created such wonderful music.

One of the most underrated Bluesmen ever.
I wonder how feminists today would regard this song.
Muy buena canción y que ritmo entre guitarra y armónica.
His brother in law was good on the harmonica too lazy Lester
Great !!!
I love this thread of appreciation of a legend that I have known of too but had not properly listened to. When I did, I was 100% addicted and in awe of his talent and genius. Now I am hooked on trying to find a moving, singing, playing, blowing video of him, but the web throws up blanks like he was never there, or it's been confiscated. Please shed some light if you've been down the rabbit hoke and come out empty-handed. I must see Slim Harpo in action.
This guy was extraordinary ! His music, his voice... Incredible !!!
His voice is fantastic ! His music marvelous... I love !
Huggy woogy
Yeah! If you don't dig the blues you got a hole in your soul.
Anyway you cut it, it’s still some pretty clean harping.
Genius
Nice!
Did know only the version from Warren Smith.
Fantastic photo. He looks regal, but real at the same time. Bless him.
Is this the only recording of this song posted online?

Yessssssss
Slim recorded the greatest spoken blues of all time:blues Hangover
Right. And I have the original 45.

Of course this isn't the original recording that he made back in 1961 on Excello records but a good version as well. His original recording in 1961 was a monster hit here in OKC on our weekly top 40 radio survey. Larry N. Boyington, aka Larry Neal, former curator of the Wax Museum on the big 1520 KOMA
